Anytime, anywhere that I can save money, I do. Especially at the gas station. Since prices have been so high in the past year I have really had to determine my errands, combine them with other errands, or just stay at home.
It is almost $75.00 a week to fill up our mini van. That paired with the higher grocery prices have caused us to extend our budget in those two areas.
We were saving for Disney last year and it was going to take a considerable amount of money to take the vacation.
I decided that instead of just saving my money I would save my speedy rewards points at Speedway gas station. Usually, these would be spent each time I earned 1000 points on a drink. But this time I looked up the rewards to earn and saw a big savings on gas.
My original idea was to save us money on the gas down to Disney. Well it ended up easier to stop at other places, so I did not use my points on vacation.
I continued to save them and accrued about 10,627 points. With these points I am able to redeem them and save money on each gallon of gas. The amount varies on how many points you want to use.
Here is a picture of the receipt. It will tell you each time you make a purchase how many points are left on the speedy rewards card. Gas is not the only savings, but that is what I use most of my points on.
Just the other day we were headed to the pool and the kids were hungry. I stopped for gas, checked my points, and walked out with two slices of pizza and a mountain dew for FREE!
How do you save money on gas? Do you save money on gas or do you adjust your budget to the gas price?
