Last month was my oldest son’s 17th birthday. I still remember the exact day that he was born, but most mothers’ do. Since he was home the night before I did not have a chance to decorate for the party. I believe in other posts’ I have mentioned a time or two that I am a procrastinator. In my defense it does work well for me because deadlines are how I get my list accomplished. Anyway, I missed this deadline by far and needed to get the house decorated.
Me, being the cheap frugal person that I am cannot seem to spend a lot of money on decorations and a table setting that will be thrown away. As I’m laying the kids down for nap time and preparing to start decorating while my son was at the YMCA I had a thought. Why not create a quick box of birthday decorations that will be used repeatedly?
My great idea was a “quick birthday in a box”. Its OK to have universal decorations. No need in the “themes” and paying extra…right? Right.
Quick Birthday In A Box:
- Plain white table cloth
- Plain white plates
This box holds everything that I need in one area. It allows quick, efficient decorating for any birthday party. Old or young this box holds it all. If they want a theme then that can be a great idea for a cake, but from now on I will use my quick birthday in a box!
