Frugal Friday: Where Did My Money Go?

February 1, 2014 By Michelle Knight Leave a Comment

Each Friday I am going to post my spending for the week.  In 2014 I want to be more deliberate with my time, and money.  Sometimes when I have money in my pocket…..it gets spent and then I have no idea what I spent it on.  I will say that with the winter weather, 3 kids and being pregnant my trips have been more deliberate and it is helping our budget. I have “spending” money set aside and it was very nice to see it accumulate from last month to this month.  Usually, there is no accumulation.  No that is not to say that I am not frugal.  I will try to squeeze money out of every possible location.  My one bad habit is …..a dollar here and a dollar there mindset at times.
I have been cooking home more, and not eating out with the kids for lunch which in itself is a small miracle.  I think I just really had to get used to MY cooking.  Now that I am trying to make meals that I would eat at restaurants’  it is not that bad.
Saving money in the area of “odds and ends” can really add up to something much better.

Here is my update for Frugal Friday on spending:

Sunday–  Grocery shopping $50.00 for the week /no coupons

Monday-$8.00 flu shot

Tuesday- no money spent

Wednesday– Taco Bell $14.00, Dollar Store- $5.00 Cough drops, scrubbies, and two $1.00 toys.

Thursday– $4.78 Starbucks (gift card) no out of pocket, and $2.18 McDonald’s cookies and cheeseburger.

Friday– $21.00 birthday card and gift.  $50.00 gas.

If you want to join me in my journey to save more money and be held accountable post your week at: www.facebook.com/momsarefrugal.
