Preschool : Letter E Week

October 15, 2014 By Michelle Knight Leave a Comment

This week we worked on letter E.  As usual I had a coloring page ready so that my little guy would have a visual.

I am starting to think most of my kids are visual and hands on like me.  When I work on something if I take notes or have some kind of a visual then what I am learning will stick better in my head.

Preschool this week started with coloring.

First we colored our letter E in the color of the week which is red . On this day KO will wear a red shirt, find objects and toys that are red all day, eat a red food, and color his letter with the color red.  I found this great curriculum at Letter of the week.

While KO is doing preschool with mommy, K is working on his handwriting.  He does work that does not need my attention so that later when preschool is done he will get my attention for phonics and math. Since he is in the first grade this makes it easier to be more hands on.

While KO is doing preschool the baby sits in his exersaucer and K plays with him, or he entertains himself with all of the gadgets.

Science activity was building a nest.  We are learning what kind of animals make nests.  This activity involves my participation so it is saved for naptime.  During naptime the baby sleeps, my preschooler takes quiet time or sleeps and the teenager is working on his independent work.

If you homeschool how do you manage hands on activities with a baby and preschooler?
