How to Add Generosity Into Your Homeschool Family

August 2, 2023 By Michelle Knight Leave a Comment

**Compensation was received for this post, but all opinions are my own.

Many years ago when my children were small, I had a list of character traits of generosity that I wanted them to have as they grew. Manners, joy, kindness, happiness, and generosity were on my list. Well, like most busy homeschool family ideas, the business of raising and teaching take the front seat in the homeschool. Character traits took a backseat because I didn’t have any tools to help guide them.

Fast forward about ten years and I see where some character traits are more important right now than others’. Generosity is one of them. I want my children to grow up and be giving of their time, money, and other resources. No way do I want them to be selfish, because honestly it spills over into family life. Growing up with a generous heart is important. Not that I want them to give everything away, but knowing when to give is important.

Raising children in a homeschool family with a Bible-focused intent to be generous doesn’t just happen. Every trait good or bad that we want to encourage has to be worked on daily. That is why I love the Generous Family Curriculum. It is quick, helpful, and guides my children to live a more Christ-like life that extends generosity.

Homeschool with Purpose

We all have the best of plans, but without intention, that is all they are. Generous Family ha put together the perfect way to be intentional about generosity. Not just learning to give, but teaching behind the giving is important. It is a heart changing curriculum. Guiding my children to be more Christ-like with their time is important. Time is another way to give generously. I want to teach life skills of compassion for others’.

Home Education is more than book learning. I want our journey as a homeschool family to be a complete circle by the time we are done. Generous family has helped me to see this was my area of weakness. I love the fact that the lessons are short. Short, but focused. My kids’ learned more about generosity in the first lesson. Hours are not needed to bring a giving attitude into our home.

Generosity Rooted in Faith

Each lesson has a Bible based scripture connection to generosity. The best part of this homeschooling kit is the adventure. Not only are my kids’ learning a biblical lesson that will stay with them for life. but they took a roadtrip! This Bible-focused curriculum is designed in such a fun way that my very energetic boys’ were agreeable to sit down and do the lesson. Lessons are short, to the point and interesting.

My nine-year-old was able to write out his own answers. Sometimes since he is the youngest and just learning to write well it is hard to do Bible studies. He has ideas but can’t get them out, or the questions are above his head.

Really, this is a kit that has it all. The roadtrip starts and leads to seven ways to live a more generous life.

Inspire Kindness in Homeschoolers

My boys’ needed to be inspired in kindness. Especially with each other. As they get older, unfortunately they are less likely to share with each other. Lately it has been my prayer that once again they will share their time, energy, words, thoughts, influence , belongings and money with others’. Giving should start at home with brothers’.

One night when I was doing our bedtime routine with the kids’ before we sat down for devotions I mentioned to my oldest (15) that he needs to be more generous with his time. Not for others’, but with his little brothers. I can’t tell you how using this curriculum has set up opportunities within our family to teach the compassion of Christ. Even when a little brother asks an older brother to play his toys’ with him. I like the lesson allowed me to reflect that area to be acknowledged.

A Kit That Has It All

Homeschooling that inspires is what every homeschool mom has on her goal list. If that goal is met, then the time spent was well worth it. Using the Generous Students Homeschool Curriculum Kit was the best way to instill giving values into our daily life. The video’s are wonderful. So interesting and very relatable.

Increase the values in your family today and try the generous family home education kit that has it all. Build your family values and have fun as you take a road trip adventure of faith.
