Preschool: Letter G Week

November 20, 2014 By Michelle Knight Leave a Comment

As we continue on our preschool journey my enjoyment increases.  I love to watch my preschooler explore the world and then reiterate it in his own way when daddy gets home.

Sometimes the interpretation comes out exactly like we did the activity, and sometimes not.

That is part of the learning journey…imagination.  In this day and age kids need more imagination.  Guilty of it myself we use ALOT of electronics for learning on a daily basis. Setting limits has helped us to not be so dependent on the kindle or ipad, but it is winter and unfortunately we use them.

Letter G this week was for goat.  Yes, we made a goat.  My preschooler not only learns on a daily basis, but mommy learns what it means to be organized.

It is much easier to have what we need cut out and ready to glue, rather than do it while little fingers are grabbing and possibly ripping the work to shreds. Just saying, it may happen!

Preschoolers are quick and love to learn so my goal before we do our learning time each week is to have his station set up the night before.  It really only takes 5 minutes.

K is learning to read.  He is doing very well and looks forward to his phonics time each day.

We spend about 15-20 minutes working in his book.  It is a  great tool and very easy for readers to start their journey.

C is working very hard on getting his spanish grade up to a “B”  I am very proud of the effort and initiative he is putting into schoolwork this year.  Even though his classes are harder now that he is in high school his effort is strong.

If you are working your way through the alphabet let me know on my facebook page what you do!

Cheers,

Michelle
