5 Quick Ways To Stay Fit For Fall

October 13, 2015 By Michelle Knight Leave a Comment

Fall is my favorite time of year….for beauty. I love summer because of all that comes with it such as shorts, swimming and late nights with lightning bugs (fireflys). But, fall holds the beauty of foliage changing colors, crisp nights, and pumpkin patch adventures.

There are still ways to stay in shape in the fall even though as it gets colder more exercise may have to be indoors.  I am not a huge fan of running outside in the cold. Not everything needs to revolve around exercise either…staying fit revolves around more than exercise!

Ways To Stay Fit In The Fall:

Lighten your lunch. Make your same PB&J sandwich, but on whole wheat. Change it up a bit and make it on a whole wheat bagel. Add a greek yogurt as dessert.

Go to bed. Getting a good night rest is just as important, if not more important than exercise.  Nothing functions right if our bodies are not rested.  I once heard that  a sleep deprived person is more dangerous driving on the road than a drunk driver. Now most of us are not sleep deprived to that extent but that goes to show how important sleep can be.

Eat Before Working Out.  Eating a light, healthy snack prior to  a workout can give a boost of energy. Fruit cups or trail mix would be the ideal snack to get through a workout.

Include The Family. Round all of your family up to play a game of soccer in the yard, volleyball, or horseshoes. It is fun for the family, bonding, and a great way for everyone to get some needed exercise.

Keep It Moving.  While watching kids play or practice in their sports, start moving.  Walk in place, sway, or walk the perimeter of the field. This is an easy way to boost the heartrate.

If  you want to get on the road to being more healthy then these simple tips would be a great start.  Follow me on Facebook for more tips and ideas to help moms save money, save time, and save their sanity!

Cheers,

Michelle
