Quick Home Cleaning Techniques

March 5, 2019 By Michelle Knight Leave a Comment

Since I used to own my cleaning business, I needed to clean as many homes as I could in a small amount of time.  I had to make a certain amount of money because I was a single mom.  I could only work while my oldest son was in school.   I was trying to grow a business, run a home and take care of my child.
Entreprenuership is not as easy as it looks. A stable work ethic and tenacity will make a business grow quickly.

Don Aslett’s books on cleaning techniques and growing a business were wonderful for me. I tried everything that he offered in the books and it worked. I was able to get the homes cleaned in the amount of time alloted.

Most people take too many steps when using quick and easy cleaning. Take a look around the room before cleaning. Decide what part would be the hardest to knock out first.

I would start clockwise in the room and set a timer.    As I progressed in my cleaning ability I started to lower the time.  But, first I had to master the technique.

Quick and easy cleaning

A cleaning system helped me to clean high and low quickly. My tools were accessible and I touched everything in the room once. Even the mirrors.  For the toilet a different rag was used. I dusted, wiped down, and shined with a dry rag.

I  hit the baseboards, and mopped my way out of the room.  Setting up a system for rotational cleaning was important. Second making sure that I had the cleaning tool needed quickly and easily.

After several months of practice  I was able to clean homes in less than three hours. Building up to this took time and research in the area of cleaning. Reading lots and lots of different books on goals and cleaning companies helped me grow my business to a successful level.

Homemakers can use these quick cleaning tips to accomplish more household work in a small amount of time. Now that we homeschool, I do not have all day to clean so I set up some routines mentioned by the fly lady.

Have you ever considered starting a cleaning business? What do you think was the hardest part of accomplishing several houses in a day. Please share this post if you found it helpful and place any comments or tips on my Instagram @momsarefrugal.
